Vikkie Patterson
Bio
Vikkie Patterson has been a painter for over twenty years as well as currently completing a PhD at Belfast School of Art. Her practice-based academic research centres around the concept of decoloniality and embodiment in present-day painting and literature. Prior to her training as a painter at BSOA where she was awarded a First honours BA degree in 2019, she studied French and Germanic Studies at Trinity College Dublin and lived previously in the French Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe. Since then, she has exhibited her work in two solo shows in 2023 and 2025 as well as in group exhibitions internationally. Her paintings also form part of collections at NIVAL, the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, ACSONI Belfast and the Kanu Nayak Art Foundation in Mumbai, India and in private collections in Europe, North America and Australia.
