Artist Statement:
Maree Hensey’s practice is centred around drawing, print, installation and collaboration. She uses materials that are rich in associations and investigates ways to transform them projecting new identities and layers of meaning onto materials in doing so. The work is curatorial in that it assembles, preserves and documents. Her current work opens the door to dealing with the emotions that we are experiencing as the world shifts around us, as what has been stable and familiar becomes uncertain, perhaps profoundly uncertain and our future unknowable.
