Julie Murphy
Julie Murphy studied Fine Art (drawing and painting) at Edinburgh College of Art and now is a printmaker, sculptor and art psychotherapist living and working in Omagh, Tyrone, N. Ireland where she is a member of Omagh Printmakers.
Drawing is at the heart of all her artwork, and she attends life drawing classes as often as possible and is a member of the ‘Sculptors Drawing Space’ an online weekly drawing group.
Most recently Julie has been focusing on printmaking and has studied Japanese Woodblock Printmaking (Mokuhanga) on a residency in Japan which encourages innovative ways to use this traditional technique.
Julie is interested in experimenting with alternative drawing techniques and combining drawing with other methodologies such as using bi-lateral drawing as part of her therapeutic practice supporting people impacted by trauma.
